Trying to preach the Gospel using the Ways of the World
I think that the miserable policy of introducing questionable means of preaching the Gospel grieves the Holy Spirit. It is
more like we are entertaining the world in order to get them to accept God’s message. There are parties, selling of
various items not even related to the Gospel, compromising the message to save face; I believe all these things grieve the
Spirit of God. I believe when we bring the Word of God down to the level of the world to reach the world, we are missing the
mark all the while and grieving the Spirit of God. Why should God adjust His Word to the levels and standards of man? Hasn’t
he already done that by sending Jesus here to become human and die for our sins on the cross? Sometimes it ends up in compromise,
following traditions more than the Word of God, making the commandments of God of none effect. Putting other things above
our first love, and being afraid to preach a pure message of the Gospel for fear of retaliation, or persecution, or rejection.
Let us not confuse rejection with persecution.
It says in John 1, He came unto His own and His own received Him not. Jesus was rejected, to say the least. He preached the
truth on the Jewish side of town and they had no respect for one of their own.
Are we any better than Jesus? He preached a pure message. Peter preached a pure message and Paul preached a pure message,
the whole counsel of God, with no compromise.
When one of God’s prophets or voices, or witnesses compromised or disobeyed and changed something they got into a lot
of trouble with the Lord. We have to say it the way the Lord wants us to say it, so we can establish the Kingdom of God in
Spirit, in Word and in Power. Anything short of that is a compromise, and it will fall flat along with dead works of the flesh.
I’m talking about witnessing but not witnessing. Calling it witnessing, but doing something other than witnessing the
truth of God. That’s disobedience. If you say your preaching the Gospel but you are not
giving them the Gospel, that is disobedience and the Holy Spirit will be grieved and will depart. The Holy Spirit will not
help you to do anything that is not promoting the Gospel and Jesus. The Holy Spirit came not to bear witness of himself, but
of Jesus. The Holy Spirit will not support another Gospel, but will withdraw, and you will get stuck with some other spirit
speaking through you instead of the Holy Spirit. If it is not the Holy spirit speaking through you than your witness wont
really be a witness will it? What will it be? Dead works, dead words, not the Words of God. The Holy Spirit will speak the
Word of God through you. The Holy Spirit will confirm the Word of God, and execute the will of the Father. If what you are
involved in is not the will of the Father, the Holy Spirit will have nothing to do with it.
If you want to speak something else that is not the Gospel then you don’t need the Holy Spirit for that. You will get
some other spirit, some familiar spirit to speak through you and you will be in the spirit of error, in the spirit of rebellion
as a Christian. So being a witness, and witnessing is testifying. When someone gets up on the witness stand in court, they
swear to tell the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth. They have to tell it like it happened and if they tell
one little lie and get caught they throw
Out the whole testimony. You have to preach the Gospel like it is, like it was given to us to preach, you can’t adjust
it to satisfy the people you are preaching to . You can’t change the message to a message that is going to be accepted
by the people you are preaching to, and take Jesus out of it, take salvation out of it, take repentance of sin out of it,
God out of it. Then it becomes a social gospel, and you have no power of the Word because the Word of God has been taken out,
and replaced with the wisdom of man.
I Corinthians 1:18 “For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness, but unto us which are saved it
is the power of God”
